After three days of bad jokes, gratuitous nudity and even a Sumo wrestling act, one man has finally managed to crack the stony facade of The Poker Face.

When Sebastian Roode took the stage at Clearwater Mall on 29 August he had only 30 seconds to get a reaction from Chris Forrest's poker face. In front of a packed audience, it was Roode’s ‘crazy-monkey’ impersonation of Forrest himself that had everyone in hysterics. Roode had some dubious contestants to contend with, including a flasher in ladies underwear and a granny giving a very bad rendition of La Cucaracha.  Whether his spectacular tumble at the end of his performance was intended or not, it managed to get a laugh from the Poker Face and win Roode the cumulative prize of R40,000.

Sebastian Roode Cracks the Poker Face

This week the 94.7 Highveld Stereo and Piggs Peak Casino, home of All Africa Poker’s “Crack My Poker Face” competition moves to the East Rand Mall on 1st, 3rd and 5th September, and will conclude at Fourways Mall on 8th, 10th and 12th September.  If the antics at Clearwater Mall are anything to go by, then spectators can expect to be entertained.

94.7 Highveld Stereo and Piggs Peak Casino are also giving the office-bound folk a chance to flex their funny muscle. For the next two weeks they will be taking the Crack my Poker Face Team to selected offices around Joburg on a Friday, to see which work-team is able to get a smile out of Forrest. If you and your work colleagues think you have what it takes to win R10,000, go to www.highveld.co.za for more details.

If you can’t make it to a mall, you can submit videos online, showing how you would crack the Poker Face. The best of these will be placed on a dedicated “Poker Face” website, hosted by www.highveld.co.za , thanks to Piggs Peak Casino.  Listeners will then be asked to rate the entries, with a weekly cash prize of R10 000 cash prize for all those who voted and a further weekly R10 000 competition for those who submit their videos.  Videos which don’t make it onto the Highveld site are being placed on All Africa Poker TV’s online channel (www.allafricapoker.tv ).

Not everyone is funny or can get to the malls, so in addition to all the online cash giveaways, Piggs Peak Casino will be giving all listeners a chance to enter by sms.  Just for smsing your email address to 322 69 at a cost of R1, you’ll put yourself into the end-of-promotion draw - a R30,000 cash prize.
