The $10,000 buy-in no-limit Texas Hold 'em tournament returns to action today for Day 3 at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and 13 of the 32 members of the All Africa Poker Team are still in the field.

Warren Zackey is the Team All Africa Poker’s chip leader going into Day 3, with Nicholas Sissou not far behind.  Zackey is currently ranked 34 on the SA Bluff Player Poker Rankings.  SA’s top poker player Ryan Dreyer is also still holding strong.

The starting chip counts for Day 3 for the SA players are: Warren Zackey 225,000; Nicholas Sissou 160,700; Ryan Brauer 146,900; Ronit Chamani 144,000; Nicolas Zakhem 133,000; Raymond Rahme 131,300; Nersan Naidoo 95,700; Mel Banfield 91,000; Ryan Dreyer 81,700; Jarred Solomon 70,000; Ryan Price 61,000; Jaco Storm 49,400; and Kinesh Pather 48,200.

Out of a starting field of more than 6,494 players at this year’s WSOP, it is estimated that only 250 of these are top pro players and the rest are filed as amateurs.  Phil Ivey, the No. 1 seed and the world's best poker player, is in great form and making another run for the title as he sits among the chip leaders with 325,000.  Amir Lehavot leads the pack on the start of Day 3 with a healthy chipstack of 610,000. Only 1724 players remain in the field at the start of Day 3.

The one thing the WSOP Main Event final table has not seen much of is women. Only once in the 40 year history of the event has a woman appeared at the final table. Barbara Enright finished in fifth place in 1995 and no woman has reached the final table since. However keep an eye on South Africa’s Ronit Chamani and Melanie Banfield, who have both made it through to Day 3.

Unlike Day 1, which was split into four days and Day 2 which was split into two days, Day 3 to 8 will be played over a single day, concluding on July 15th with Day 8.  The final table will then resume play again on November 7th for the title of WSOP Champion.
